For the third year running, Copenhagen Songwriters Festival returns with the theme “Celebrating Songwriters New & Known”.

Copenhagen Songwriters Festival 2011 is held 19-21 August at Onkel Dannys Plads in the hip and trendy Vesterbro area, filled with bars, restaurants and great nightlife. The festival presents an ambitious gathering of more than 150 songwriters from 12 different countries. British performers include Esther Rose Parkes and Michael Cochrane. The festival brings original song writing into focus and creates a platform where Danish as well as

international songwriters can perform and network with one another. In addition to concerts, Copenhagen Songwriters Festival also offers workshops, open stage and late night shows. On top of that, it has become an established tradition for the organisers to surprise the audience by arranging concerts not included in the programme. The festival was founded in 2009 by the American songwriter, Brett Perkins, who lives in Denmark, in cooperation with Kulturanstalten. One-day tickets cost DKK 100 and three-day tickets DKK 200. Tickets can be bought online. |
