Hotel LEGOLAND at the original Legoland® theme park in Billund has embarked on a major expansion and renovation due to be finished on 4 April 2009.

Not just popular amongst families, but also with business clients at home and abroad, the 5-star Hotel LEGOLAND in Billund is refurbishing its lobby into a world of giant Lego Bricks, creating an entirely new hotel wing with additional theme rooms in adventure style and opening a new restaurant on its premises.

The hotel’s Director, Mr. Tim Höhrmann explains:
“For a long time we have had high occupancy. In light of this and of the opening of northern Europe’s largest holiday resort, Lalandia, next door in April 2009 - we expect even more tourists and conference guests at the hotel. Besides, we want our leisure and business clients to continue to say ”Wow”, when they enter the hotel lobby. The LEGO Experience must begin already there and then!”

Ever since the first Hotel LEGOLAND theme Rooms were introduced, they have been in high demand with both families and company clients, and part of the expansion is also the launch of a new a la carte restaurant decorated in Adventure Style. Here, guests will have the opportunity to eat dinner in a "hunting room" with 70 dining seats. After the expansion, the hotel will have 199 rooms – all equipped with Danish designer TVs by Bang & Olufsen and wireless broadband connection. The hotel includes seminar rooms and group facilities, 30 conference rooms, 2 auditoriums and approx. 2200 sqm of exhibition area in beautiful settings at the 'Idé-huset'.

Hotel LEGOLAND has ambitious plans of becoming Europe's best hotel experience for business guests, and they work hard at making the dream come true by also offering numerous types of innovative team building and using the strong values connected to the LEGO® brand: Creativity, fantasy, learning, fun and quality. Their "Business & Bricks" programme includes a number of experiences and teambuilding-activities that can be added to a conference or meeting, and the span of its business programme is big: From playing "just for fun" to goal-oriented work with team development and/or the strategic processes in a company. To tackle the ability to memorize an event too, the hotel has teamed up with Learning Lab Denmark and developed special tools designed to increase participants’ return on a meeting or conference too!
