ShowMeCopenhagen launches new exciting tour of Copenhagen

October 2011

A new guided tour of Copenhagen, “Tasteful surprises in Copenhagen”, by professional tour-provider ShowMeCopenhagen and Green Insights was given the “thumbs up” by Danish Meeting Professionals when launched on October 6th in the Danish Capital.

A selection of Danish Event Managers and Executive Secretaries were invited to join ShowMeCopenhagen and Green InSights on a new inspirational bus tour of Copenhagen, to get an introduction to the old vs. new Copenhagen with a “green twist” whilst also discussing how foreign business travellers/visitors experience the destination differently based on their own cultural background and on the purpose of their visit.

The attendees experienced the old working class district of Vesterbro, including the Meatpacking district, an area which has been revitalized and transformed into one of the city’s most trendy areas with organic eateries, chic cafés and restaurants, designer boutiques, art galleries, etc., and has become a hot spot to live in for young and old citizens alike.

A taste of history and of organic produce
A pit-stop at the brand new Copenhagen Market Halls (“Torvehallerne”) was also part of the tour-itinerary, and included a taste of the locally grown organic apples, an introduction to green/sustainable concepts such as city-farming and to Copenhagen’s new city-bee concept. Another 200 meters away from the halls the group had another stop-over at the Kent Kaffe Laboratorie to learn more about the organic concept of the newly opened café and to taste their delicious mild organic coffee coming from a particular coffee field at a particular sustainable coffee farm in Guatemala. Then, the attendees were off to another inspiring place in Copenhagen…
...and the vote from the jury?

As one of the attendees on the trip summoned up the experience:

"I experienced a super strong team that gave us a very inspiring tour of Copenhagen. They had thought of both me and of my conference guests' wellbeing, and the tour combination of the old vs. new Copenhagen with an added green angle appealed very much to my senses and left me incredibly pleased."

To this Line Pedersen Bram and Finn Høeg of ShowMeCopenhagen note:

“We’re delighted to receive such positive feedback from the professional Event Managers and Executive Secretaries, and based on their encouraging response, we will definitely carry on with and develop the new inspirational tour concept further“.
