NIMB Hotel on Conde Nast Traveller's “Gold List 2011”

December 2010

For the first time ever a Danish hotel, Nimb, has made it onto Condé Nast Traveller's prestigious “Gold List 2011” for the World’s Best hotels. In fact, the Nimb Hotel in downtown Copenhagen is the only Scandinavian hotel on the 2011 list.

Condé Nast Traveller’s annual “Gold List” is created by its editors who autonomously pick out their own choice of the best hotels in the world. The list is perceived a “must-read” for anyone interested in great service and facilities, fabulous locations and sublime food and a decent night's sleep.

Among other things, the Nimb Hotel is highlighted for its perfect location in Copenhagen, adjacent to the famous Tivoli Gardens, and for its unique and charming interior design: ”It is a magical and very hip place…” the judges state.

Acting General Manager at the Nimb Hotel, René Jasper Thomsen, says:

”Apart from our central location and fabulous views overlooking the Tivoli Gardens, we have always believed in clean lined, unique surroundings with a comforting home-away-from-home atmosphere. Our focus is on the detail and we only wish to create unique experiences. This international recognition is a brilliant sign of approval and one that we are very proud of.”

The Nimb Hotel opened in 2008 and even back then it managed to get onto Condé Nast Traveller’s “Hot List” – and now Nimb has progressed onto its ultimate “Gold List”, according to the January 2011 issue of the Magazine. Nimb Hotel is part of the “Small Luxury Hotels of the World” brand and owned by Tivoli. Prices for an overnight stay at Nimb Hotel range from 2,500 to 8,500 DKK per night. The hotel has just 13 rooms, 8 of which are suites, and no two are alike.

Nimb Hotel also offers banquet and meeting facilities for between 10-80 persons and has an exclusive Vinoteque, Bar, Brasserie as well as the top restaurant Herman. Herman, run by young Danish chef Thomas Herman, seats 40 guests and was honoured with one star by the prestigious Michelin Guide in 2009.

Restaurant Herman belongs to the exclusive group Michelin-starred restaurants in Copenhagen and specialises in the new Nordic Cuisine. More about Danish Michelin restaurants here.
