EWEA 2012: The power of the Wind Energy Industry meet in Copenhagen – “Capital of Sustainable Meetings”

September 2011

On 16-19 April 2012, Europe’s premier wind energy event, EWEA 2012, will take place at the Bella Center in Copenhagen, Denmark; the leading country in European wind power technology.

The 2012 edition of the annual event is expected to be bigger and better than ever before with 10,000 professionals from around the world attending and experiencing the power of the wind energy industry.

The EWEA Annual Event is Europe’s premier wind energy event; a place where the industry’s brightest minds meet to exchange the latest knowledge, forge meaningful business relationships and create connections with influential people around the world. It combines a comprehensive, high-quality conference with a first class exhibition and incomparable networking opportunities. This is why it is considered a “must” by the international wind energy community.

Denmark itself is the cradle of modern wind power and a leading wind nation. Wind power supplies the highest share of energy of any country, and Denmark is home to the highest density of companies excelling globally in wind energy. Wind power is also crucial in reaching Copenhagen’s goal of CO2 neutrality by 2025 and thus, the Danish capital looks very much forward to welcoming EWEA and all participants in Copenhagen next spring.

Since staging the COP15 event in Copenhagen in December 2009 and succeedingly launching the “Copenhagen Sustainable Meetings Protocol”, the number of sustainable and certified businesses in Copenhagen has literally boomed. Over 60% of the Danish capitals’ hotel rooms are third party eco-certified and sustainability is by now an integral part of the Danish meetings industry and thus, Copenhagen has become known as the “Capital of Sustainable Meetings” and Denmark as a genuine sustainable meetings destination.
